Supply Teachers Quality Mark

Supply Teacher Quality Mark

Supply teachers make an important contribution to the smooth running of  schools and the raising of standards. The Government values their contribution and wants to ensure they are recruited and managed well, to allow them to give their best to schools.

The Quality Mark was launched in July 2002, as a joint initiative between the Department for Education (DfE) and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to help drive up standards for everyone in the sector. The Quality Mark sets minimum standards for agencies and LAs to reach in areas such as the way they recruit and interview supply teachers, the way they check and manage their performance and the way they stay at the forefront of changes in the teaching sector.

Connex Education were awarded the Quality Mark in early 2008 following a long period of consultation with the REC. This is a joint venture between the DfE and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to help ensure the highest standards.

This award is not only a valued asset for  Connex, but also for those much valued teachers, teaching assistants and nursery staff who work on behalf of Connex. Our new status as an REC approved agency will enable us to provide our supply staff in an even wider range of schools and nurseries.

The award of the Quality Mark status for Connex Education is recognition of the company’s efforts in achieving the highest levels of vetting for its supply staff and is the culmination of a 12 month process and a stringent audit by the REC.
