Connex Education FAQ

What services can Connex Education provide?

We provide teaching staff to cover on a short-term temporary basis and long term basis for Nurseries, Primary Schools and Secondary schools. We are also now working with schools to provide administration staff.

How can I contact Connex Education?

Our offices are open from 7.00am until 6.00pm Monday to Friday and we are open throughout all school holidays. You may place bookings either for a pre-booked absence or for emergency cover using our local office out of hours on-call service. A consultant from each office will be contactable on your local office number until 10.00pm each evening and throughout the weekend. An answering machine is available at all other times.

I already have some experience - when can I get started?

If you have experience of working with children, you can provide suitable references and have an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure you can work for Connex. The registration takes about an hour, and once we have obtained references and completed your registration you can work for us the following day.

I haven't got a CRB/ I've lost my CRB, what do I do?

Most agencies will charge you if you require a new CRB Enhanced Criminal Record Disclosure but not at Connex. The cost of a CRB is £36 but when you register with us we will meet the cost, so you know we will be serious about finding you work.

What can I do to maximise my chances of getting work regularly?

Once registered keep in contact! Call your local office and consultant every morning at 7am to ensure the team know you are available for work. Those who keep in touch are often the first to be called when bookings are available.

How much notice will I be given for a new booking?

We will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible but the nature of supply means that often bookings are at short notice.

How can I help speed up my registration?

Unless we are applying for a new CRB Disclosure, the thing that normally slows down the vetting process and in turn you being cleared for work is referencing. The sooner you are able to provide your references the sooner we will be able to apply for them and in turn get you cleared for work.

I've just moved to the UK/ I've been working abroad, what do I do?

If you have lived abroad in the last 12 months or have arrived from overseas you must have an overseas police check. We are unable to apply for overseas police checks on your behalf.
